- Egg Noodles: Thick and sturdy egg noodles are the go-to pasta for this recipe. You can substitute Penne, Rotini, Bowties or medium elbow pasta instead of egg noodles.

Make this simple and delicious recipe for butter noodles to provide the perfect side dish or snack.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the egg noodles, reduce the heat to low boiling point, and cook the pasta according to the direction of the packaging.

Keep 1/4 cup pasta water before draining the pasta. Drain the pasta well, but do not rinse.

Return the pan to the stove over medium heat and melt the butter and garlic powder.

Stir the cooked noodles, parsley, parmesan (if used) and pepper. If necessary, apply coating and season with extra salt. Stir one tablespoon or two tablespoons of pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
- Do not rinse the pasta, otherwise the butter will not stick.
