Whisk together the cream, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt. Add red food coloring and stir to mix. Adjust the color as needed. Pour into the ice cream manufacturer according to the manufacturer’s instructions and stir. While the ice cream is stirred, divide the cookies into pieces about ½ inch

Spread about ½ cup of cookies at the bottom of the freezer safety container. While the ice cream is stirred, remove half of the ice cream on the cookies in the container, sprinkle the ice cream and top with 1 cup of cookie slices. Spread the rest of the ice cream in a container and sprinkle the remaining cookies on top. Freeze until firm.
